Manx waters are extremely diverse and offer excellent scuba-diving opportunities, from scenic shore dives and snorkelling explorations, to technical diving on offshore reefs and submerged shipwrecks. This is the SS Liverpool wreck site. She sank after hitting a mine on 19th Dec 1916. The Liverpool is an iconic wreck for Manx divers, with the stern of the vessel and the boilers still standing proud. The bow was destroyed by the original explosion and flattened further by the impact as she sank.
